Applying V.I.C.E. Script to the windows of you car is as easy as these simple steps. Preliminary Steps 1. Check that the V.I.C.E. Script stencil's VIN number matches the VIN number of the vehicle to be etched. 2. Roll up every window on the car to be etched all the way. 3. Clean the outside of the windows with a dry paper towel or cloth. If there is excessive dirt or grease on the windows, clean with glass cleaner. Applying Stencils to Outside of Vehicle Windows 1. Align the bottom edge of the stencil with the outside of the window frame about 3"-4" in from the side. use the window frame as a guide to keep the stencil straight. 2. Working from left to right, gently peel a stencil from the backing paper. Make sure that the stencil separates from the next stencil at the perforation. Stick the stencil to the window making certain that the VIN characters are straight and can be read from left to right when viewed from the outside. 3. Gently rub your finger across the stencil to remove any air bubbles, wrinkles or creases. The stencil can be repositioned a number of times without damage. It is important to apply the stencil as straight and smooth as posible. Etching Vehicle Windows 1. Before using the etching compound you must shake it first, then gently turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it slightly to get a small quantity of liquid into the applicator top. 2. In the event of clogging, you can gently bang the bottom of the bottle against a hard object. 3. In the event of a severe clot, you may insert an open paper clip into the applicator tip, thus breaking through the clogged neck of the bottle. 4. Usign a gentle circular motion (you do not need to press hard), apply the etching compound over all 17 VIN number characters, the 800 number and the words V.I.C.E. Script that have cut into the stencil. You may need to squeeze the bottle gently to get a thin layer over the VIN number, the 800 number and V.I.C.E. Script. Apply enough to cover, yet, you should still be able to read the writing throught the etching compound. 5. Leave the etching compound on the window for two minutes. Repeate this procedure on every window of the vehicle. Do not let the etching compound spill or drip on the window. If a spill does occur, quickly wet a clean paper towel with water and wipe the etching compound off as soon as possible. Do not re-use the paper towel. Throw it away and use another clean paper towel to dry the area. The etching compound is design to etch glass only and will not ordinarily damage paint, metal or rubber.
